Shokz has significantly upgraded its open-ear headphone technology with the Openrun Pro 2 model. These headphones utilize bone conduction to transmit sound through the bones of the jaw and cheeks, bypassing the ear canal entirely. This design is particularly beneficial for runners and athletes who need to remain aware of their environment while enjoying audio.
The new Shokz Openrun Pro 2, available in a special London Marathon colourway, have received high praise for their sound quality, a notable improvement over previous models. The headphones are engineered to remain stable during vigorous exercise, including running and headbanging, ensuring a secure fit.
Despite their advanced features and excellent performance, the Shokz Openrun Pro 2 come with a substantial price tag of £179. This pricing positions them as a premium option, raising the question of whether the enhanced audio experience and safety benefits justify the cost for consumers.
