Shokz has unveiled two new clip-on earbud models, led by the flagship OpenDots 2. This new model boasts a redesigned 11.8mm driver utilizing Bassphere 2.0 technology, engineered to deliver superior bass performance. Shokz claims this design, along with a diaphragm that reduces distortion by 70 percent, maximizes audio output within a compact form factor.
The OpenDots 2 also incorporates MirrorPitch technology to direct sound towards the ear, enhancing bass and volume for a richer listening experience. Enhanced Dolby Audio support adds depth and impact while preserving vocal clarity and the soundstage.
Call quality sees a significant upgrade with a dedicated bone conduction microphone. This mic acts as a reference for onboard AI to distinguish voices from background noise, offering improved noise reduction for clear communication even in windy conditions up to 12 mph.
Battery life for the OpenDots 2 is rated at up to 10 hours per charge, extending to 40 hours with the included charging case, which supports Qi wireless charging. A quick five-minute charge provides an additional two hours of playback. The earbuds are also rated IP57 for water and dust resistance.
The Shokz OpenDots 2 are available for purchase at $200 in black, gray, and pearl white from major retailers and the Shokz website.
