Sennheiser Momentum 5: Replaceable Battery, Hi-Res Audio

Sennheiser's new Momentum 5 Wireless headphones are set to release on June 30th, priced at $399.99. These headphones introduce a user-replaceable battery, a first for the Momentum line, alongside "Hi-Res Audio certification" and expanded Bluetooth codec support including AptX Lossless. This enables streaming of CD-quality sound from compatible Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound devices.

The Momentum 5 Wireless feature enhanced active noise cancellation, achieved by doubling the microphones to four per side. Sennheiser claims this significantly reduces background noise and improves call quality. The battery offers up to 57 hours of playback, and the headphones also support Dolby Atmos and spatial audio with head tracking.

Future firmware updates are planned to upgrade the headphones from Bluetooth 5.4 to Bluetooth 6.0. A new, 20 percent smaller carrying case is also included. Despite a slight decrease from the Momentum 4's battery life, the Momentum 5 still offers nearly double the listening time compared to some competitors.
