Satechi has unveiled the CubeDock, a compact aluminum enclosure designed to streamline desk setups by integrating charging, storage, and connectivity. This device is positioned to enhance functionality without consuming significant space, potentially resembling a Mac mini in form factor.
The CubeDock offers robust connectivity with three Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports. It also includes a 2.5-gigabit Ethernet jack, audio output, and SD/microSD card readers. For display output, it supports a single 6K display or dual 6K displays on macOS, while Windows 11 systems can handle up to three 8K displays, depending on graphics capabilities.
A key feature is the internal M.2 NVMe slot capable of accommodating up to 8TB SSDs, with transfer speeds reaching 6000MB per second. The CubeDock also functions as a powerful charging hub, delivering up to 140W for laptops, 30W for tablets, and lower outputs for smartphones and smartwatches. It includes a fan and vented chassis to manage heat, aiming for improved reliability. Preorders are open at $399, with shipping expected by the end of March 2026.
