Samsung Electronics co-CEO Jun Young-hyun held a meeting with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in Seoul to discuss future semiconductor collaborations. The discussion focused on next-generation foundry chips, a key area for both technology giants.
During the meeting, Jun confirmed ongoing cooperation between Samsung and Nvidia on chips for autonomous driving and Groq AI accelerator chips. The executives also explored deeper, long-term partnerships, specifically examining advancements in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) technologies, including HBM4E and the upcoming HBM5.
This follows Nvidia's earlier announcement in March about its new AI inference processor, utilizing technology from Groq. Samsung is slated to manufacture Groq's LP30 chips, with shipments expected in the latter half of this year, underscoring the immediate nature of their joint projects.
