Samsung is enhancing its Health app with a significant update rolling out on June 8, designed to provide users with simple, actionable guidance derived from complex biometric data. This update aims to showcase the capabilities of the upcoming Galaxy Watches.
The new features are powered by generative AI. The Vitals feature will analyze metrics like heart rate, respiratory rate, and skin temperature overnight, comparing them to a resting baseline. Deviations can trigger notifications, suggesting the need for more rest or indicating a possible illness.
Additionally, the app's Vascular Load function is evolving into a Heart Health Score. This score will integrate sleep, stress, activity, and body composition data to provide a comprehensive assessment of heart health, along with tailored recommendations like increasing potassium intake.
Further advancements include Daily Cardio Load for optimizing workout targets and rest times, and Fitness Index which compares user metrics like VO2 max against peers to set personalized fitness goals. While these features work across Galaxy devices, they will be fully realized with the launch of Samsung's next generation of Galaxy Watches, expected in July.
