Samsung Buds Gain FDA-Approved Hearing Aid Features
12 Aug
Summary
- Samsung's new Galaxy Buds Pro models will feature FDA-approved hearing aid capabilities.
- The feature includes a five-minute hearing test and sound amplification mode.
- This capability is expected to roll out in Q4 of this year for select markets.

Samsung is set to launch its new Hearing Aid functionality for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and 4 Pro by the end of the year. This feature, approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, offers a medical-grade hearing test and a sound amplification mode.
The hearing health experience includes a five-minute test to assess hearing loss, categorizing results from mild to profound for each ear. Following the test, the Hearing Aid mode can amplify sounds and reduce background noise using the earbuds' active noise cancellation.
This new capability will be available to users with Samsung smartphones running One UI 8 or later. Samsung plans to release the feature in the US and other approved markets in the fourth quarter of 2026.
While Samsung's offering mirrors functionalities already present in Apple's AirPods Pro 2 and 3, it represents a significant step in integrating advanced hearing assistance directly into Samsung's audio ecosystem.
