Summary
- Galaxy Buds 4 and 4 Pro feature refined designs and new features at the same price.
- Both models require a Galaxy phone for full feature access, mirroring Apple's strategy.
- Sound quality sees improvements, with the Pro model offering superior noise cancellation.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, continuing their design trajectory inspired by Apple's AirPods but with notable improvements. The earbuds maintain their existing price points while offering enhanced features and a more polished look.
The angular stems have been replaced with a flatter panel design on both models. Charging cases revert to a rounded square shape with translucent lids.
Water and dust resistance ratings differ, with the Buds 4 Pro achieving an IP57 rating and the standard Buds 4 an IP54 rating. Both earbuds support features like Adaptive EQ 2.0, 360 audio, and AI assistance, but full functionality, including voice detection and head gestures, requires pairing with a Galaxy phone.
Audio performance is a strong point for both models, with the Buds 4 Pro offering superior sound quality due to its two-way driver setup. Active noise cancellation has also been improved, especially on the Pro model, which features Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation 2.0, though the standard Buds 4's ANC is less effective.
Call quality is clear in quiet environments, but noisy settings can lead to a slightly digitized voice output on both versions. The ambient sound mode on the Buds 4 Pro is notably natural.
Samsung continues to refine its earbuds to compete with AirPods, focusing on core audio and ANC improvements. However, the company is still lagging in areas like hearing health and fitness tracking, features present in Apple's offerings.
