Samsung's New Laptop: AI Ready, But Pricey

Samsung's Galaxy Book6 Enterprise Edition has launched, featuring Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 processor built on the 18A process node. This new silicon, codenamed Panther Lake, brings enhanced capabilities for AI tasks. The Enterprise Edition boasts improved security features, including a discrete Trusted Platform Module and NIST compliance, alongside deployment customization for businesses. It offers strong battery life, lasting up to 18 hours and 4 minutes in tests, and a refined symmetrical design with a 16:10 IPS display.

However, the Book6 EE has notable drawbacks. It omits USB4 and Thunderbolt 4, ports common even on less expensive devices, offering only USB 3.2 Gen 2. The RAM is soldered, limiting upgrade options, and the IPS display, while functional, doesn't match the richer OLED found in the Pro tier. These limitations, coupled with a starting price of £1405, position it as a machine that might encourage users to consider the more expensive Book6 Pro models for a more complete experience.
