Salesforce, previously known for customer management software, is now significantly advancing its artificial intelligence capabilities. The company is championing a new business model termed the "agentic enterprise," which integrates AI agents to work alongside human staff across diverse business operations.
In 2024, Salesforce introduced Agentforce, its dedicated AI-agent platform. This year, it announced a substantial $3.6 billion acquisition of Fin, a customer-service AI firm, further bolstering its AI-driven solutions.
Emilie Sidiqian, Salesforce France CEO, stated that the company is reinventing how enterprises adopt the AI revolution. Salesforce asserts that Agentforce can achieve "real conversational AI" in service, sales, and marketing, citing improvements like 66% autonomous case resolution and a 1.8 times higher lead conversion rate.
Clients like US home appliance company SharkNinja are already utilizing these AI agents for 24/7 global customer support. Swiss staffing firm Adecco has also leveraged AI-powered candidate conversations to facilitate numerous interactions and accelerate job placements.
Sidiqian emphasized that enterprise AI is accessible to businesses of all sizes, from small companies to global corporations. She described AI not merely as a tool but as a significant wave of innovation impacting all job types and activities at a rapid pace.
Salesforce's objective is to foster a "hybrid" work environment, not to replace human workers. The goal is to allow AI agents to handle routine tasks, ensuring people remain central to operations. Sidiqian highlighted that the successful integration and reshaping of jobs through AI is fundamentally a leadership challenge.
She stressed that CEOs and executive teams must understand and guide how AI transforms each role within a company. This strategic imperative, she believes, should be driven by the CEO and the entire executive committee.
