Roku TV Becomes Your App Test Lab!

Roku has introduced Roku Labs, a new feature within its OS update that allows U.S. customers to access experimental applications developed by the company. Users can find these in-development apps, including those for weather tracking, stock monitoring, and a game called Roku Dash, via a dedicated tile on the Roku Home Screen. This initiative highlights Roku's growing commitment to developing its own monetizable applications.

The company is also enhancing user experience by making its personalized Home Screen available in Mexico and Brazil, incorporating region-specific content and tailored recommendations. Roku's Voice assistant can now handle weather-related queries. Furthermore, Roku is launching bundled subscription services in the U.S. and Mexico, offering a more affordable way to access multiple streaming platforms. The software powering Roku remotes is also being open-sourced to encourage external development.
