Roblox is set to revolutionize game accessibility by allowing creators to distribute their games as standalone applications. This initiative, announced at the company's developers conference on Friday, September 11, 2026, aims to extend the reach of Roblox experiences beyond the primary app.
Starting by the end of 2026, players will be able to join games directly from a game's Experience Details page within Chrome browsers. This feature will expand to additional browsers subsequently, removing the need for app downloads.
The platform is also empowering creators with new functionalities, including the ability to combine online and offline modes within a single game. This opens doors for single-player campaigns and gameplay that does not require a network connection.
Furthermore, Roblox is enhancing its suite of AI tools for game development. Building upon the July introduction of Build, which allows game creation from text prompts, the company is releasing Scene Generator later in 2026 for functional game layouts. New non-player character features are also being added to assist in game testing.
