Roblox Unlocks AI Game Creation & Global Reach

Roblox has announced a suite of new features aimed at empowering creators and expanding game accessibility. At its recent Developer Conference, the company revealed advancements in AI-driven game creation, including its "Build" feature, which now extends to Serbia and Singapore, allowing users to generate games from natural language prompts. Desktop access for Build is also enhanced, with more features to come later this year.

The platform is also significantly broadening the reach of developed games. Creators will soon be able to distribute their games as standalone apps across mobile, PC, and consoles, utilizing Roblox as the underlying game engine. Additionally, players will gain in-browser access to games via a simple link by the end of 2026.

Further innovations include enhanced NPC functionalities, enabling them to assist in game testing, and an offline mode for games to ensure continuous playability. Players will benefit from a new Friends chat tab that moves with them during gameplay, complete with voice typing. An improved discovery algorithm will tailor game suggestions based on user age, prioritizing shorter formats for younger players and longer playtimes for older ones.

Roblox is also introducing tools for 2D game creation, including orthographic camera support and sprite-sheet import. In a move to bolster creator earnings, Roblox is launching a new financial ecosystem. A Roblox Wallet, in partnership with Airwallex, will allow creators to receive daily payouts in real money. This is complemented by a forthcoming Roblox Card, slated for release in 2027, enabling creators to spend their earnings at various merchants.
