14 May
Summary
- The concept is an all-wheel-drive electric beach buggy.
- It features unique half-doors and a surfboard-ready roof.
- The vehicle draws inspiration from 1970s and 1980s Renault models.

Renault has introduced the striking JP4x4 Concept, a radical "beach adventurer" electric vehicle designed for surf enthusiasts. This all-wheel-drive concept is based on the production Renault 4 E-Tech EV but is reimagined as a two-door buggy.
Key features include unique flap half-doors and a significant reduction in glass, enhancing its open-air experience. The roof incorporates an X-brace, perfectly sized to carry a surfboard, while the rear cargo area is designed for skateboards, and a tailgate replaces the original liftgate for easier loading.
Finished in Emerald Green with a vibrant orange interior, the JP4x4 Concept's seats echo 1970s Renault designs. It boasts a dual-motor AWD layout and increased ride height for off-road capability. The design pays homage to the 1969 Plein Air and 1981 JP4 models, blending vintage aesthetics with electric power.
While unlikely to reach the U.S. market, the JP4x4 Concept is slated for public display at the 2026 French Open in Paris, from May 24 to June 7.
