31 Mar
Summary
- Proton VPN expands to Bolivia, Haiti, Jamaica, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
- New servers enhance performance for users in underserved regions.
- Servers are exclusively available to paid Proton VPN subscribers.

Proton VPN has recently introduced servers in five new countries, responding to significant user demand. The newly added locations include Bolivia, Haiti, Jamaica, Paraguay, and Uruguay, bringing the total to over 170 locations worldwide.
These servers are strategically placed in key cities: La Paz in Bolivia, Port-au-Prince in Haiti, Kingston in Jamaica, Asuncion in Paraguay, and Montevideo in Uruguay. This expansion specifically targets regions that have historically been underserved by VPN providers, aiming to resolve performance issues caused by users connecting to distant servers.
David Peterson, Proton VPN's General Manager, announced the expansion on X (formerly Twitter) on March 31, posting in several languages, including Haitian Creole, Jamaican Patois, Spanish, and Guarani. The new servers are available now for paid subscribers, enhancing connection speeds and reducing latency for users in these areas.
This user-driven expansion is part of Proton VPN's ongoing commitment to providing robust anti-censorship tools and improving global accessibility. While the new servers benefit paid users, Proton VPN Free remains limited in its server availability.
