Obscura VPN has introduced its 'Circle of Trust' initiative, a new network dedicated to fostering collaboration among independent, privacy-centric technology companies. This program aims to create an ecosystem of digital rights advocates, moving away from a single-brand approach. The initiative was launched on 2026-09-15T18:44:50+00:00.
Ente Photos, an end-to-end encrypted image storage application, is the inaugural member of the Circle of Trust. Paid subscribers of Obscura VPN are now eligible for a 25% discount on their first year of Ente Photos. Ente users will also receive a special promotional offer for Obscura's VPN service, creating a reciprocal benefit for both user bases.
This collaborative strategy mirrors trends in the cybersecurity sector, with companies like Windscribe also building ecosystems of privacy-first apps. Obscura VPN utilizes a unique two-party relay architecture and a custom QUIC-based obfuscation protocol, ensuring enhanced privacy. Ente Photos provides secure, encrypted storage for images and videos, with data secured locally before cloud upload.
