Google has announced software updates for its Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a, with enhancements slated for release in September. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds are set to receive dynamic active noise cancellation, which intelligently adjusts to maintain an optimal seal. Both earbud models will also benefit from deeper Gemini integration, allowing the AI chatbot to manage volume and EQ adjustments via voice command.
Further integration will enable the Pixel Buds to sync with the Pixel Watch. This feature will automatically pause music and disable notifications if the watch detects the user has fallen asleep. The live translate feature has also been upgraded, now supporting over 70 languages for seamless translation. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 will also be available in a new olive-green color variant, with preorders opening immediately.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are positioned as Google's premium earbuds, while the Pixel Buds 2a cater to a budget-conscious market. Google confirmed no new physical earbud designs were revealed at the recent Made by Google event.
