Google is now deploying a substantial feature update to its Pixel Buds 2A and Pro 2 models. This update introduces several advanced capabilities designed to enhance user experience.
One of the most notable additions is sleep detection, integrated with the Pixel Watch. When a Pixel Watch detects the wearer has fallen asleep, the earbuds will automatically pause audio playback, mute incoming notifications, and disable touch controls for uninterrupted rest.
Further enhancing usability, the update brings tap-to-mute functionality for calls, allowing users to quickly silence their microphone with a tap, though this requires a Pixel phone. Live translation can now be activated with a single tap. New Gemini voice commands provide sophisticated control over features like active noise cancellation (ANC), equalizer (EQ) adjustments, and touch control activation.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 exclusively receive Dynamic ANC. This feature intelligently adjusts both audio and noise cancellation levels based on how well the earbuds are sealed within the user's ears, optimizing sound quality and noise isolation.
