- The rugged phone runs Android, is 27mm thick, and costs 499 euros.

The Oukitel WP63 is set to launch next month, priced at 499 euros and available globally. This device distinguishes itself with an extraordinary 20,000mAh battery, enabling it to charge other gadgets via USB-C. It also features a powerful speaker and an LED lamp bright enough to warrant a warning against direct viewing.
Beyond its power capabilities, the WP63 includes a novel fire-starting function. An electric coil, activated through an app, can theoretically stay lit for up to 10 minutes. While the demonstration unit at MWC encountered issues, video evidence suggests the feature could be functional in the final product.
Running Android 16, the WP63 promises three years of software and security updates. It sports a 6.7-inch Full HD display, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 64-megapixel rear camera, performing as a standard smartphone. However, its considerable 27mm thickness makes it a bulky device.
Despite a lower screen resolution and shorter software support compared to some competitors, the WP63's massive battery, bright lights, speaker, and unique fire-starting ability position it as a compelling choice for outdoor enthusiasts.
