4 Dec
Summary
- Over 90,000 Optus customers affected by server failure.
- Landline customers unable to make crucial Triple Zero calls.
- Service restoration promised by 4pm Wednesday, but delayed.

More than 90,000 Optus customers in Brisbane and surrounding Queensland areas are experiencing significant disruptions due to a network server failure. The outage, which commenced early Wednesday morning, has severely impacted NBN internet services for a large number of users.
A critical consequence of this failure is that landline customers are unable to access emergency Triple Zero services. Optus has acknowledged the widespread disruption and deployed technicians to address the issue promptly.
The telecommunications provider initially assured that all services would be fully restored by 4pm on Wednesday, aiming to resolve the connectivity issues for affected NBN customers.
