Summary
- The OnePlus 15R features a massive 7,400mAh battery for multi-day use.
- It boasts a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and a 165Hz refresh rate.
- The phone omits a telephoto lens, focusing on battery life instead.
The OnePlus 15R offers a strong mid-range experience, highlighted by its massive 7,400mAh battery, capable of lasting at least two days on a single charge. This exceptional endurance is a key feature, achieved by foregoing a telephoto lens. The device is equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and a fluid 165Hz refresh rate display, contributing to a premium feel.
While the 50MP main camera captures excellent daytime shots and the 32MP front camera takes shareable selfies, the absence of a telephoto lens is a significant consideration. The phone's design is premium with an aluminum frame and glass back, complemented by durable IP66-IP69K certifications. It is available in the UK and US starting at $699.99/£649, though US pricing is notably higher than its predecessor.
OnePlus promises four years of software updates and six years of security patches. This update policy is shorter than some competitors, which may influence long-term upgrade decisions for consumers. Despite this, the phone's overall performance, battery life, and design make it a noteworthy option in the competitive mid-range market.
