Summary
- New DLSS update targets maximum monitor refresh rates.
- AI frame generation aims to reduce visual artifacts.
- Update for RTX 50-series GPUs to go live March 31.

Nvidia is set to release a significant update to its DLSS suite on March 31, introducing "Dynamic Multi Frame Generation." This new feature within DLSS 4.5 will allow PC gamers, particularly those with RTX 50-series GPUs, to target their monitor's maximum refresh rate, such as 240Hz. The technology inserts AI-generated frames between traditionally rendered frames to artificially boost performance.
This advancement aims to address criticisms of frame generation, including visual artifacts like ghosting. Nvidia asserts that the update enhances stability and image quality. The update also promises up to 6x frame generation capability for the latest RTX 50-series cards, inserting between one and five AI frames per rendered frame. These features were initially anticipated at CES 2026.
