Nvidia CEO Claims AGI Arrived: What's Next?

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently asserted that artificial general intelligence (AGI) has now arrived, signifying a new, evolved stage for AI. This declaration comes during an appearance on Lex Fridman's podcast.

Huang's perspective suggests AI can now match or surpass human intelligence across various cognitive tasks, enabling learning, reasoning, and knowledge application. He anticipates potential breakthroughs like emergent apps or digital personalities.

However, Huang cautioned that current AI agents are not yet ready to independently manage a large corporation like Nvidia. He noted that AI initiatives often wane after initial use, making the creation of Nvidia by 100,000 agents improbable.

This statement contrasts with Huang's prior outlook at the 2023 New York Times DealBook Summit, where he estimated AGI was approximately five years away and capable of outperforming humans on intelligence tests.
