NordVPN Expands Reach With 30 New Virtual Servers

NordVPN has announced the addition of 30 new virtual server locations, bringing its total to 79 as of December 2025. This expansion contributes to its overall network of 178 locations worldwide. The company selected these new locations based on client demand and challenges in establishing physical servers.

Virtual servers offer a secure and high-quality alternative, performing on par with physical servers. NordVPN explicitly states which of its servers are virtual within its applications, ensuring transparency for users. This approach is crucial for maintaining user trust and adherence to no-logs policies.

While virtual servers are not inherently inferior, transparency is key. NordVPN's expansion highlights the growing use of virtual servers by major VPN providers, including Surfshark and ExpressVPN, to offer wider global coverage despite infrastructure or legal hurdles in certain regions.
