It also offers a redesigned optical formula for enhanced image quality.
The new lens features a considerably improved autofocus system, utilizing voice coil motors for speeds up to 3.5 times faster than its predecessor when paired with compatible cameras. Additionally, the AF system operates 50% quieter, a benefit for videographers. Image stabilization has been enhanced to six stops, with Synchro VR available for maximum steadiness on compatible Nikon Z bodies.
Ergonomic improvements include a de-clickable control ring for video use and a removable tripod collar with an Arca-Swiss foot. The lens hood incorporates a filter window for easier accessory use. This versatile lens is positioned as an ideal companion for event, sports, and wildlife photography, and will be available from March 2026.
