Meta's NYC Store Goes Permanent: A Culture Hub
18 Mar
Summary
- Meta's Manhattan store, initially temporary, is now permanent.
- The store is designed as a cultural hub with art and tech.
- It offers gadget customization, hardware trials, and a coffee bar.

Meta's temporary store in Manhattan has transitioned into a permanent flagship location, marking its second such establishment after the Los Angeles store. Initially launched as a pop-up in November last year, the store has secured a 10-year lease.
The space, located at 697 Fifth Avenue, retains its distinctive bright blue exterior matching the Meta logo. Inside, the design features skateboards on the walls and art co-created by Meta and local artists, intending to reflect New York City's culture.
Meta Lab NYC will offer services beyond hardware displays, including gadget customization, trials of new devices, and exclusive limited-edition releases. A coffee bar is also available for visitors, enhancing the experiential retail concept.
Meta's creative director for wearables, Matt Jacobson, highlighted the store's "people-first approach" rooted in culture and self-expression, aiming to boost sales and awareness for AI wearables. This strategy positions Meta Lab as distinct from traditional consumer electronics retail.
The brand's retail journey began with a location in Burlingame, California, in 2022, followed by the Los Angeles flagship and various pop-ups in other cities.
