MacBook Pro vs. Creta: Which costs more?
31 Oct
Summary
- A loaded MacBook Pro costs Rs 17 lakh, similar to a car.
- Monthly installments for the laptop exceed Rs 1.6 lakh.
- The laptop price rivals several variants of the Hyundai Creta SUV.
A viral video comparing the price of a fully loaded Apple MacBook Pro with a Hyundai Creta SUV has captured social media attention. The comparison highlights that a top-tier MacBook Pro, with maximum upgrades including the M5 Max chip and extensive storage, can cost as much as a popular Indian SUV.
The chosen MacBook Pro variant, with numerous premium upgrades and taxes, reached an astonishing price of approximately Rs 17.97 lakh. Even when considering monthly installments, the EMI for this device would reportedly be around Rs 1.61 lakh.
This high cost is juxtaposed with the Hyundai Creta, an SUV whose on-road prices in the Delhi-NCR region range from Rs 12.68 lakh to Rs 24.15 lakh. The fully equipped MacBook Pro's price point effectively exceeds that of multiple Creta variants, leading to a humorous choice presented to viewers: a luxury laptop or the SUV.
