Fitbit co-founders James Park and Eric Friedman have launched Luffu Link, an LTE-enabled health and safety band. This new wearable is designed to monitor the wearer's overall health, encompassing both physical and mental well-being. It integrates continuous health sensing, voice logging capabilities, and location awareness.
The device allows users to communicate with trusted contacts and request help even when a phone is not nearby. The $250 Luffu Link is available for pre-order, with shipping expected in early 2027. It comes in three color options: halo gold, onyx black, and sterling blue.
Luffu Link complements the Luffu health-monitoring app, which uses AI to track daily patterns and flag notable changes in family members. The system was developed from the founders' personal experiences with family caregiving, aiming to provide a clearer picture of a loved one's health without constant monitoring.
Users can press a button to log information via voice, such as medication updates, symptoms, or mood. The Luffu app organizes this data and provides context for families. The wearable also tracks standard health metrics like activity, sleep, and heart rate to identify patterns and offer insights.
With built-in GPS, Link informs trusted contacts of the wearer's location and movements. A quick double-press allows wearers to check in with family. In emergencies, wearers can send a help request, including their location and health data, to designated family members, all included with the LTE service.
