LG has launched the Xboom Buds Plus, featuring a charging case equipped with UVnano technology that sanitizes earbuds by eliminating 99.99% of bacteria. This technology effectively targets common bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The earbuds are currently available for purchase in Black at a price of $180.
Beyond their germ-killing capabilities, the charging case cleverly doubles as a Bluetooth transmitter. This feature allows users to connect to non-wireless audio sources using a proprietary USB-C to 3.5mm cable, eliminating the need for separate dongles. The Buds Plus also come with 10mm graphene drivers, six microphones for active noise cancellation, adaptive EQ, and an IPX4 water resistance rating.
These earbuds support Bluetooth LE Audio, though compatibility with features like Auracast and the LC3 codec can vary depending on the smartphone. Users can expect up to 30 hours of total playtime. LG announced these earbuds in the fall, with availability now confirmed in early 2026.
