LG has introduced its inaugural Micro RGB TV series, the MRGB95, marking a significant advancement in color reproduction. These new televisions, available in 75, 86, and 100-inch sizes, offer an unprecedented spectrum of over a billion colors. This is achieved through a novel Micro RGB backlight composed of tiny red, green, and blue LEDs, enabling 100% coverage of the high-end BT.2020 color space.
The MRGB95 series incorporates LG's Micro Dimming Ultra system, featuring more than 1,000 dimming zones to enhance contrast levels. The televisions also integrate LG's personalized webOS platform, complete with Voice ID, AI Picture/Sound Wizard, and a selection of AI chatbots. While LG continues to focus on its OLED offerings, this new Micro RGB line positions the company within the growing trend of MicroRGB television technology.
Pre-orders for the LG Micro RGB evo TVs are currently open, with an expected release in May. This launch allows LG to compete with other manufacturers embracing MicroRGB technology, though competitors like Sony are also developing their own advanced backlight systems.
