Summary
- LG introduces Micro RGB evo TV technology at CES 2026.
- Micro RGB uses individual R, G, B LEDs for wider color.
- The TV boasts 100% color gamut coverage and 1000+ dimming zones.

LG is embracing a new frontier in television display technology with its upcoming Micro RGB evo screen, slated for a reveal at CES 2026. This innovative approach eschews traditional white backlights in favor of individually controlled red, green, and blue Micro LEDs. This allows for unparalleled color accuracy and a broader color gamut, bridging the gap between OLED's pixel-level control and existing mini-LED technologies.
The LG Micro RGB evo is engineered with an advanced AI upscaling engine and has received certification from Intertek for achieving 100 percent color gamut coverage across BT.2020, DCI-P3, and Adobe RGB standards. Furthermore, the display incorporates over a thousand distinct dimming zones, ensuring precise control over brightness and contrast for a superior visual performance.
While competing micro RGB televisions, such as a recently announced 115-inch model from Samsung, come with a substantial price tag, LG's offering aims for a slightly more accessible market with planned sizes of 100, 86, and 75 inches. Despite the varied screen dimensions, consumers should anticipate a premium price point for the advanced features LG Micro RGB evo delivers.
