Summary
- LG G6 OLED TV boasts 20% increased brightness over G5.
- New processor enhances upscaling and color mapping.
- G6 features reduced reflectivity and improved highlight detail.

LG's new G6 OLED TV introduces the Primary Tandem RGB OLED 2.0 panel, promising up to 20% increased brightness compared to the G5. This latest model features the Alpha 11 Gen 3 AI Processor, enhancing visuals with Dual Super Resolution Upscaling and Dynamic Tone Mapping Ultra.
The G6 also incorporates Hyper Radiant Color Technology and a 12-bit color pipeline, aiming for improved color accuracy and reduced banding. Although LG stated the G6 is brighter, initial demonstrations in Filmmaker Mode showed less vibrant colors than the G5, a change by design to achieve a more natural look.
Despite the perceived color shift, the G6 demonstrates significant improvements in handling mirror-like reflections and managing bright highlights. This makes the G6 a compelling option for those prioritizing reduced glare and detailed bright scenes, alongside its advanced processing capabilities.
