LG's Robot Folds Laundry: A Glimpse into the Future

LG has introduced its new AI-powered humanoid robot, named CLOiD, designed to assist with various household chores. This innovative robot is capable of tasks like folding laundry and serving food, showcasing advanced capabilities for domestic assistance. Its head unit features a display, speakers, and sensors that enable communication and environmental learning, while two robotic arms can manipulate objects at knee-level and above.

CLOiD utilizes wheels for mobility, similar to LG's robot vacuums, and its arms possess independent finger articulation for delicate tasks. LG plans to demonstrate CLOiD's laundry-folding prowess and other domestic functions at an upcoming CES event. The company is focusing on developing practical home robots, suggesting CLOiD is currently a concept rather than a retail product.
