Summary
- Massive JBL speaker delivers exceptional, punchy sound.
- Vivid 12.1-inch 2K display ideal for entertainment.
- Weak performance makes it unsuitable for work tasks.
The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 stands out as a unique entertainment-focused Android tablet, primarily due to its enormous JBL-9 speaker system. This speaker, featuring nine individual drivers including woofers and tweeters, delivers exceptional sound quality, making it a standout feature for music and movies.
Complementing its audio prowess, the tablet boasts a bright and colorful 12.1-inch 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for video consumption and general browsing. It also includes a versatile, rotatable kickstand for convenient viewing angles in both portrait and landscape modes.
However, the Tab Plus Gen 2 is not designed for productivity. Its MediaTek Dimensity CPU and 8GB of RAM provide basic performance, which can falter with multiple apps or browser tabs open. While it excels as an entertainment device, users seeking a workhorse tablet should look elsewhere.
Battery life is a strong suit, lasting over 16 hours in tests. The tablet is typically priced at $399 but is often found discounted, making it a compelling option for those prioritizing audio and visual experiences over raw processing power.
