Legendary audio company Leak has expanded its speaker lineup with the introduction of the new Sandwich 100 passive hi-fi speakers. These new models are more compact than their predecessors, the Sandwich 150 and 250, making them an ideal fit for bookshelf placement.
Boasting a price point of $899 / £499 / AU$1,099 per pair, the Sandwich 100s represent a more affordable entry into Leak's esteemed audio range, effectively halving the cost of the Sandwich 150. They are slated for release in mid-April.
The Sandwich 100 features a 30mm coated textile dome for high frequencies and a distinctive 150mm Sandwich cone diaphragm for mid and bass frequencies. This proprietary diaphragm design, rooted in Leak's 1960s innovations, is engineered for enhanced stiffness and clarity, utilizing layered aluminum skins.
These speakers require an amplifier output between 25W and 100W, with a 6-ohm impedance. They are housed in a two-way vented box enclosure, and unlike the Sandwich 250, do not appear to have an integrated stand option. Leak also offers amplifiers, allowing users to create a complete, stylish audio system from the brand.
