Amazon has announced an upcoming software update that will introduce a system-wide dark mode to its Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft e-readers. This update, rolling out worldwide in the coming weeks, will extend the popular white-on-black inverted display to the entirety of the color E Ink user interface, a feature previously limited to black and white Kindle devices. Users will have the flexibility to enable dark mode across specific sections of the device, such as the home screen and library, while keeping others, like handwritten notebooks on the Scribe, in a standard light mode.
