TypeSafe AI's Jev: Machine-Speed AI Decisions

TypeSafe AI, co-founded by ChatGPT co-inventor Diogo Almeida, has introduced Jev, a novel AI model engineered for machine-to-machine communication. Unlike conventional AI that processes text prompts into natural language, Jev delivers typed probabilistic decisions directly usable by other software or AI systems.

This new System One model operates on a Reinforcement Learning for Calibrated Decisions (RLCD) architecture. A key advantage is its speed; Jev's response times range from 70ms to 500ms, dramatically outperforming traditional large language models (LLMs) which can take minutes.

Jev is also significantly more economical. TypeSafe charges $0.042/MTok for input, with no output charge, contrasting sharply with OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Terra pricing. The model is named after economist William Stanley Jevons and is suitable for AI automation, real-time decision-making, large-scale data classification, and AI input verification.

While TypeSafe asserts Jev is hallucination-free, this claim stems from its structured, probabilistic output rather than natural language generation, distinguishing it from LLMs. The model's efficiency and speed make it a powerful tool for various AI applications.
