Launched on March 12, 2026, the JBL Live 680NC headphones are positioned in the mid-range market at $159.95, offering a compelling feature set for their price.
These headphones are equipped with active noise cancellation, Ambient Aware, and support for Auracast, alongside multipoint connectivity. Users can also leverage extensive EQ options, including a personalized EQ curve through JBL's Personi-Fi 3.0 feature.
The audio performance is characterized by a strong, sometimes overwhelming low-end and slightly rolled-off highs, contributing to a warmer sound signature. While not competing with premium models, they offer good sound for their cost.
A major highlight is the extraordinary battery life, providing up to 80 hours of playback without ANC and 50 hours with ANC enabled. A quick five-minute charge offers an additional four hours of use.
Design-wise, the JBL Live 680NC are lightweight but may exert noticeable pressure on the top of the head during long listening sessions. They do not include a charging cable, a common omission for budget-conscious devices.
Despite minor sound and comfort trade-offs, the JBL Live 680NC presents a strong value proposition, providing many features typically found in more expensive headphones at a more accessible price point.
