Summary
- Apple Watch now controls Blackmagic Camera app remotely.
- iPhone can now act as a live studio camera via ATEM.
- App update includes ProRes RAW stabilization improvements.

Blackmagic Camera app version 3.3, released on or around April 17, 2026, introduces significant remote control capabilities for solo creators. The latest iOS update now supports Apple Watch, allowing users to remotely start and stop recordings, adjust frame rates, shutter speeds, white balance, and ISO, and control zoom directly from their wrist. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals filming vlogs or standing presentations with their iPhone mounted on a tripod.
Additionally, the app integrates with Blackmagic's ATEM Mini switchers. Through the Blackmagic Camera ProDock, an iPhone can function as a live studio camera. This setup enables remote adjustments, recording triggers, focus, and zoom control via a single HDMI cable connection to the ATEM Mini. The inclusion of a DaVinci primary color corrector facilitates digital film looks during live productions.
The integration extends to Blackmagic's broadcast camera accessories, namely the "Focus and Zoom Demand" controls. When connected to a compatible iPhone via the ProDock, creators can manage zoom and focus without altering their grip on tripod handles. This transforms the iPhone into a fully controllable broadcast camera. The update also incorporates ProRes RAW stabilization and general performance improvements, available as a free download.
