Apple Shifts iPhone 18 Pro Launch to Saturday Pre-order

Apple may deviate from its typical iPhone launch pattern this year, potentially opening pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on Saturday, September 12. This follows an expected unveiling at the September 9 event in Cupertino. This reported September 12 pre-order date would bypass the usual Friday window and the sensitive date of September 11.

The upcoming Pro models are anticipated to sport a 6.3-inch display for the Pro and a 6.9-inch screen for the Pro Max, possibly featuring a smaller Dynamic Island. Under the hood, they are expected to be powered by Apple's new A20 Pro chip, manufactured on a 2nm process, and include a second-generation C2 modem.

Camera enhancements are also on the horizon, with three 48MP rear cameras likely, and a variable-aperture lens possibly exclusive to the Pro Max. Battery capacity could see an increase, with the iPhone 18 Pro reportedly around 4,288mAh. Color options mentioned include Dark Cherry, deep red, light blue, dark grey, and silver.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but estimates suggest a starting price of Rs 1,39,900 in India and $1,099 in the US for the iPhone 18 Pro. The standard iPhone 18 might be launched separately later in spring 2027.
