Meta is actively testing a new subscription model for Instagram, dubbed 'Instagram Plus,' which aims to provide users with exclusive features. Users can potentially extend their Stories beyond the standard 24-hour limit, gain insights into who has rewatched their content, and manage audience segmentation for posts.

The subscription also reportedly includes features like 'super hearts' for reactions and a 'preview' option to view others' Stories without appearing as a viewer. Initial pricing observed in the Philippines is 65 PHP (approximately $1.07 USD) per month, while in Mexico, it is 39 MXN (approximately $2.15 USD) per month, with a free one-month trial incentive for new subscribers.

This initiative mirrors Snapchat+'s success in generating non-advertising revenue through premium features for power users. Meta is exploring various subscription avenues to boost revenue, including AI-focused subscriptions and expanding its 'Meta Verified' offerings.
