India is set to significantly advance its maritime technology with the establishment of its first Autonomous Maritime Shipbuilding and Systems Centre. Spearheaded by Mumbai-headquartered Sagar Defence Engineering, the project has commenced with a foundation-laying ceremony at Juvvaladinne fishing harbour in Andhra Pradesh. The company has secured 29.58 acres of land from the state government, leveraging its proximity to the sea for vessel construction, testing, and deployment.
