The phased rollout aims for safe and efficient operations, with the full corridor expected to reduce travel time drastically. Construction has seen substantial progress, with extensive foundation and pier work completed.
Originally planned for completion by December 2023, the project experienced delays attributed to land acquisition and execution challenges, leading to the revised timeline. The government has invested ₹85,801 crore so far, with ongoing technical and financial support from Japan.
