7 Feb
Summary
- IKEA launches new Matter-compatible smart home devices.
- Most devices cost less than $30 and are battery-free.
- Products include motion sensors, switches, and leak detectors.

IKEA has launched an updated suite of smart home devices, all featuring Matter compatibility for seamless integration with various platforms. Announced in late December 2025, many of these affordable gadgets are now available, with most priced below $30, excluding batteries. These new products aim to rectify shortcomings of IKEA's previous smart home offerings.
The new range includes a hockey puck-sized motion sensor ($7.99) with an eight to ten-foot detection range, functioning reliably in testing. A standout is the Bilresa smart switch, offering customizable functions for its two buttons, usable with non-IKEA products. It requires two AAA batteries and attaches magnetically to surfaces.
Other devices include a compact temperature and humidity sensor with an LED display, powered by two AAA batteries. The Klipbok smart water leak detector, praised for its affordability, is designed to sound an alarm upon detecting water, though it lacks advanced features like monitoring cables or temperature sensing.
Additionally, IKEA offers a bedside monitor displaying temperature, humidity, CO2, and air quality, powered by USB-C (cable and plug not included). Standard smart bulbs, available in multiple variations starting at $5.99, also feature Matter compatibility and multi-color options.
IKEA is phasing out older, less connected smart home models as these new Matter-enabled devices become available. The reviewer found the Bilresa switch and Klipbok water leak sensor to be the most recommendable due to their utility and cost-effectiveness.
