Car manufacturers are experiencing a nostalgia boom, resurrecting familiar model names for their latest offerings. Renault has successfully reintroduced the R5 and R4, and now plans to revive the Twingo as an electric model under £20,000, with a range of about 163 miles.
Audi is set to bring back the A2 nameplate for a new entry-level electric model, inspired by the early-2000s hatchback. Expected to debut before the end of the year and go on sale in early 2027, it will feature a crossover-like shape.
The Fiat 500 will return to the UK this summer with a new hybrid version, offered alongside the electric 500e. Mitsubishi is also returning to the UK market with the new Outlander PHEV, a seven-seat plug-in hybrid SUV.
