HCLTech announced a significant global partnership with Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, aimed at expanding the secure deployment of agentic AI across enterprises. This collaboration prioritizes safety, cybersecurity, and governance in AI integration.
As part of the agreement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and a Centre of Excellence. This new division will focus on developing AI solutions and supporting enterprise adoption of Anthropic's Claude models, offering secure testing environments and aiding clients in adopting AI-based engineering practices.
HCLSoftware will also participate as an independent software vendor (ISV) partner, integrating Claude and Claude Code into key enterprise products like HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan. These integrations will span cybersecurity, automation, business process applications, and application development.
Furthermore, HCLTech plans to embed Claude and Claude Code into its AIForce platform, enhancing software engineering workflows. This includes applications for IT support, code remediation, and digital employee services, all designed with policy guardrails, exception handling, and human oversight for critical changes.
Both companies expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. Daniela Amodei, co-founder of Anthropic, highlighted Claude's design to provide companies confidence in sensitive work. C Vijayakumar, CEO of HCLTech, stated that the alliance strengthens their ability to deploy agentic AI at scale, building on HCLTech's existing engineering, data, cloud, and software capabilities to move enterprises from AI experimentation to full deployment.
