Content creator Hank Green is significantly reducing his output on his personal YouTube channel, "hankschannel," due to fan criticism regarding his use of AI. Green, who also hosts educational channels SciShow and Crash Course, stated on Reddit that his channel might pause or return with fewer videos, and his daily word games, SMUSH and 4x3, will be paused.

The controversy erupted on X, where Green revealed he used OpenAI's ChatGPT for script research, leading to accusations of undermining his credibility. He later apologized on Reddit, expressing he was "mortified" for letting fans down by relying too heavily on AI for research, which he felt limited his creative exploration of topics.
