Grindr's AI Plan: $499/Month for Elite Users

Grindr is exploring a significant shift towards artificial intelligence with its new premium subscription tier, EDGE. This AI-first strategy, powered by the company's "gAI" stack, is designed to enhance user experience by reducing scrolling and improving conversation quality. EDGE aims to offer a more efficient and higher-signal environment for users.

The EDGE membership is currently under testing in Australia and New Zealand, with plans to expand the pilot program to Canada and select U.S. cities. Pricing for this experimental tier has varied, with reports indicating costs ranging from $349.99 to as high as $499.99 per month, and even weekly options around $219.99 being observed. Users have the option to disable AI features within the app's privacy settings.
