6 May
Summary
- Google's AI overviews will now incorporate firsthand advice from forums.
- Summaries will include related information beyond the initial search query.
- Source websites will be clearly listed for each point in the AI summary.

Google is refining the technology behind its AI overviews within Search. These adjustments are intended to expand the scope of information presented and broaden the sources utilized. A significant change involves integrating more first-person advice from platforms such as Reddit, connecting users with experiences from those who have already navigated similar queries.
The AI summaries will also begin including supplementary, related information on a searched topic. For instance, a search about a specific city might yield additional details on its history or architecture. This aims to offer a more holistic understanding for users.
Furthermore, Google is improving the transparency of its AI-generated content. Each point within the AI summary will now be accompanied by a list of its source websites, making it easier to identify where the information originates. Desktop users will also benefit from larger previews of these sources upon hovering.
