Google Kills Nest Speakers, Welcomes Home Speaker

Google has announced the discontinuation of its Nest Audio and Nest Mini smart speakers, marking an end to their production. This decision coincides with the upcoming launch of the new Google Home Speaker, which will serve as the successor to these retired devices. The company is transitioning its smart home branding, with 'Home' now taking precedence over 'Nest' for speakers and displays.

Despite the retirement, Google assures users that their existing Nest Mini and Nest Audio devices will continue to receive full support. This includes regular software updates, crucial security patches, and ongoing customer care. Furthermore, the new AI model, Gemini for Home, remains compatible with all current Google speakers and displays, ensuring continued functionality for users of older hardware.
